About Me

Innovation | Collaboration | Respect | Excellence | Equity
I believe in the power of education and its ability to transform lives, industries, and communities. I believe everyone can learn, no matter the obstacles they may face. As an Instructional Designer, I believe creativity, empathy, and data can be utilized to create learning solutions that can make learning accessible.
I believe in taking a systematic approach to solving problems. The idea is to not simply solve a singular problem but to understand how one problem affects the whole and how proposed solutions can alter the entire system. When it comes to an educational setting, I always aim to find holistic solutions that will create improvements and yield positive results for everyone involved in the learning experience. This approach may require empathy, collaboration, the collection of quantitative and qualitative data, and a measure of foresight.
I will no doubt sell myself short when discussing my greatest accomplishment. I can discuss a plethora of experiences from my professional career that can hail as my greatest accomplishments. However, what always comes to mind first is when I volunteered (unpaid) as an Interim Principal at a boarding school in the literal jungles of India. I can dedicate an entire website to that experience. The reason it was my greatest accomplishment was because it required me to put aside all fear and it helped me to learn that nothing is impossible. I led a school with about 100 students who spoke little to no English, in a community experiencing dire poverty, with little understanding of the culture and customs; but the end of my tenure produced unexpected yet measurable outcomes that helped drive the future of the school. The experience prepared me for my career in education, taught me how to maintain a global perspective, and helped me to develop a deep sense of gratitude for life, my profession, and the communities of the world.
I Help Build Teams and Create a Positive Work Culture
I am experienced in organizational leadership, learning and development, and project management. Collaborative teamwork and a goal-oriented culture are the two things I value most in a work environment. I am highly proficient in communication and have a problem-solving attitude with the proven ability to motivate my team, and those in my charge, to achieve goal-driven outcomes.
I am skilled in reaching a diversified population in a technological age. My colleagues certify that I have excellent customer service, communication, time-management, prioritization and organizational skills. I am a leader, a coach, a team player and a learner. As I look forward to what I can contribute to the team I work with, I also look forward to how those teams will help me to grow as a professional.
